A restaurant & tavern for The People.
That means you.
Jackson 20 is about bringing people together around outstanding food and drink. Named for Andrew Jackson, the notoriously sociable President who insisted on inviting the public to his inaugural ball, you'll find Jackson 20 perfectly located in Old Town Alexandria and serving up the legendary comfort food of the region.
We also take tradition for a little spin, with rooftop garden, contemporary cocktails and delicious updates of American classics.
A good time had by all. That's the Jackson 20 spirit.

| Chef Brian McPherson Jackson 20 is pleased to announce the arrival of Brian McPherson as new executive chef. Chef McPherson joins us after serving as executive sous chef at sister restaurant Poste Moderne Brasserie, and is entrenching himself into the Old Town community, building closer relationships with the Alexandria Farmers' Markets and other local Virginia farmers. Chef McPherson has updated the menu of Southern-inspired comfort food and infused it with his own signature cooking style: "simple food done well." Chef McPherson sources from many local Virginia producers such as Steve Turnage of Weaving Run Farm and Northern Neck Fruits & Vegetables, Polyface Farm, and Bev Eggleston of Eco-Friendly Foods, among others. In the warmer spring months, he plans to create a small chef's garden in the Jackson 20 courtyard. Chef McPherson, a native of Pittsburgh, is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, and his kitchen career has taken him from Pittsburgh to Martha's Vineyard to Durham, N.C., and finally, to Washington, D.C. Since arriving in Washington in 2002, McPherson has cooked in established restaurant kitchens including New Heights, Butterfield 9, David Greggory and Poste
